This one biological detail explains the entire structure of cockroach control.
Most insecticides don't kill eggs. True across the trade, and true of gel bait, residual products, and dusts alike.
And the German cockroach female carries her egg case externally until shortly before hatching. It's attached to her body, protected, and travelling with her into harbourage nobody can reach. So even a treatment that kills every adult and nymph in the property leaves the next generation intact and developing.
Which means a single visit, however well executed, cannot eliminate an established German cockroach infestation. Not because of product quality or technician skill — because of where the eggs are and what they're resistant to.
The follow-up is the mechanism, not the upsell. Anyone quoting a one-visit elimination for an established infestation is describing a knockdown.
And it's why the interval matters more than the product. A second visit at the right moment against a mediocre product outperforms a second visit at the wrong moment against an excellent one.

The largest common species, reddish-brown, with a pale figure-of-eight marking behind the head. Sewers, drains, basements, and boiler rooms, and they fly. What it tells you: a drain or sewer connection — a dried-out floor drain trap, a broken lateral, or an uncapped clean-out. Restoring the trap seal frequently ends it.
Similar in size to an American but in the wrong context: living rooms, near doors and windows, single individuals, warmer months. They don't breed indoors. Exclusion, and frequently nothing else.
